Assessing the predicted impacts of the Lower Churchill Hydroelectric Project, upon ecological goods and services

The proposed Lower Churchill Hydroelectric Project is comprised of two installations (at Muskrat Falls and Gull Island) on the Lower Churchill River and associated transmission lines in Newfoundland and Labrador. These will complement the existing Churchill Falls Generating Station with an additional 3,074 MW of capacity and up to 16.7 TWhrs of electrical energy per year. An Ecological Goods & Services Assessment report is prepared to evaluate the significant impacts (both positive and negative) predicted from the Project.
