Shore Prices for Lobster - Economic Modeling of Key Market Factors
This study supports the DFA and LFA 34 initiative. The current pricing model is refined by implementing the recommendations contained in a review of that model. The recommendations broaden the focus to include industry-wide price determinants as well as LFA 34 prices; use a more powerful statistical package to conduct the analysis and develop the model; and assess the influence of a broader set of explanatory variables.

Economic Value of Wild Atlantic Salmon
This study estimates the economic value of wild Atlantic salmon in Canadas four Atlantic Provinces and Quebec. Value is based on combined recreational fishing and tourism, first nations fishing, conservation and research, and government activities. A survey of anglers and a separate survey of the general public in the five provinces was conducted to collect data. The estimated values for recent years are developed, along with projections according to potential conservation initiatives. Economic values are expressed in conventional economic terms such as economic output, gross domestic product (GDP), salaries, and jobs associated with direct, indirect, and induced activity through the economy. Case studies of local salmon-dependent communities were completed for the Grand Cascapedia (QC), Exploits (NL), Miramichi (NB), and Margaree (NS).4,500 surveys distributed to ASF members in Canada, U.S., and Europe - online and mail, and 1,000 surveys randomly distributed to residents in Atlantic Canada and Quebec - online
