Develop a report on the Economic Impact of Seafood and Aquaculture in Cape Breton

The seafood and aquaculture sector in Cape Breton draws together inputs from commercial fisheries, processing in seafood processing facilities, as well as production and processing by aquaculture operations. A final report supports the efforts of the Cape Breton Seafood and Aquaculture Sector (SAS) Team by demonstrating the impacts of this sector while highlighting potential opportunities for growth and collaboration. The key objectives document the number of jobs created by the sector; amount and value of exports and products; opportunities for growth; barriers to growth; potential opportunities for collaboration within the industry; and, sector expenditures on services, supply chain, transport, contractors and other industry relevant expenditures. 20 in-person interviews and 5 by telephone are conducted.
