This study conducts a detailed trend analysis of key socio-economic indicators related to economic activity at CFB 5-Wing Goose Bay. Methodology includes reviewing four previous Economic Impact of Military Flight Training studies (2000, 2002, 2004 and 2008), conducting a trend analysis by examining the socio-demographic and economic impact results presented in the four previous studies, and providing a qualitative context for the trend analysis. A Final Report is prepared which includes findings to the study.

Community Lands Trust White Paper and Consultation

This project considers options to finance land acquisition for community land priorities through the establishment of a Community Lands Trust. Methodology involves undertaking a literature review, conducting an analysis and presenting results in the White Paper to form the basis of a consultation process. Eight facilitated sessions across the province were conducted. A White Paper that sets out the findings of evaluative research is provided, a community consultation process is designed and implemented, and a comprehensive proposal outlining options and recommendations is prepared for implementing the Community Lands Trust.

This study updates the 2013 study and quantifies the economic and environmental impact for RRFB Nova Scotia’s five mandates. This includes calculating the impacts, reaching back to the beginning of the organization in 1996. In addition to calculating mandate-specific impacts, a cumulative economic impact and a cumulative environmental impact for the whole organization is provided.

The economic assessment is a critical component of completing the feasibility study. The focus of work evaluates the economic implications of specific boundary and management options. This assessment assists in determining the relative costs and benefits associated with the proposed marine conservation area, as well as providing specific analyses regarding the different boundary and management scenarios that are currently being considered.

This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the economic impacts associated with the Beverage Container Deposit-Refund System in the Nova Scotia economy. The direct expenditures attributable to RRFB Nova Scotia include not only those related to the operations stemming from RRFB Nova Scotia, but also from the ENVIRO-DEPOT™ network that result in direct expenditures and employment in the Nova Scotia economy.
