The ESE is the world's largest seafood fair. Attracting buyers and sellers from over 140 countries around the world and featuring the stands of over 1600 exhibitors, the European Seafood Exposition is the global can't-miss fair for the seafood industry. Halifax: April, 1, 2010 Michael Gardner delivers a keynote presentation at the Canadian/U.S. Lobstermen's Town Meeting in Portland, Maine on Friday March 26 and Saturday March 27, 2010. Michael Gardner delivers a keynote presentation on the state of the Atlantic lobster industry in 2010. The presentation builds upon the 2006 Gardner Pinfold report, "Benchmarking Study on Canadian Lobster", a comparative analysis of the structure and competitiveness of the Canadian and U.S. lobster industries. Halifax: March, 31, 2010 Gardner Pinfold submits a report to DFO on the Overview of Property Rights Regimes Related to Fisheries Management. The paper is intended to give an overview of the use of property rights in fisheries management. Its purpose is to provide input into the on-going debate about the effectiveness of market-based approaches to fisheries management, and more specifically, to inform discussions at the senior management and ministerial level among the Canadian Council of Fisheries and Aquaculture Ministers. Halifax: February, 28, 2010 The Canadian Fish and Seafood Branding Study is awarded to Gardner Pinfold by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. The project involves assisting the Branding Working Group in defining market access demands and developing a market-oriented storyline to explain them within the range of currently available information. Halifax: January, 31, 2010 Lobster Council of Canada contracts Gardner Pinfold to Develop a Long-term Marketing Strategy for the Canadian Lobster Industry. Gardner Pinfold is working with the Lobster Council of Canada to develop a marketing strategy for the lobster industry. The project aims to identify customer needs in new and existing markets and the structural and logistical challenges the industry faces in meeting these needs. The work builds on this analysis to develop a strategy and options to address the challenges. The project team will work closely with the Lobster Council to create an implementation plan for the strategy. |
